1665 Ali Bey's manuscript cover

Between 1662 and 1664 Wojciech Bobowski, also known as Ali Bey, translated the Bible into Turkish in Istanbul. In 1665 he supervised two scribes who copied his manuscript and made corrections to it. The manuscript, called the "secretarial copy," was later bound by the Leiden University Library and is preserved there. This is the cover of one of the bound volumes.
